Hooray for FedEx Kinko's!

Even though some of their PC's didn't work, at least I found one of their branches here in downtown San Francisco. And yes, I am now in San Francisco, as I was supposed to tell you in my previous entry, which was really cut off by stupid Safari of Apple. Argh!

I had a lot of updates to tell you since I arrived here, but apparently I wasn't able to relay it. Now I will have a chance to do. After leaving from Indiana three sundays ago, we went to Chicago and spent another week there touring the city. And the next Sunday (since my uncle had work the following day) we had no choice but to fly back to San Francisco.
Fun, fun, fun. It was how I described Chicago. So for you guys out there who are architecturally inclined or are structural engineers, then Chicago is definitely the place for you. There are other things to visit there as well, but come to think of it what makes Chicago stand out from other US cities is its architecture.

We were able to tour the city via double decker bus, so we found most of the sites that should really take you days to go to in just about 2 hours. We were also, thanking the weather, able to look out of the Sears Tower's Skydeck™ where you can see almost fifty miles from the 103
rd floor.
Now that I'm back here in San Francisco and my uncle has work, I can move freely on my own, looking back at the mini-excursion-slash-business trip I had last year in Singapore. More stories to update you in the next blog entry... if I find another FedEx Kinko's around.
Top Ten Realizations: Indiana/Chicago Style
10. There weren't a lot of Filipinos in Chicago, much more in Indiana. You can only see tourists in Chicago. Yet, there's a Philippine Consulate just across
Millennium Park (pics to come soon).
9. Since there are a few Filipinos living in Indiana (including the ones who have helped my uncle during his brief stay there), most of them are still solid in helping each other. And they think that I am from the States. Haha.

8. I would love to come back to Chicago. I missed
King Tut and the
Adler Planetarium.
7. The elevator towards the Skydeck™ would move at approximately one and a half floors per second! So the total ride from the basement to the 103
rd floor would only be a minute! Not to worry though, there's a plasma screen inside the elevator that shows animated characters. Noise is minimal.
6. Indiana is just plain fields; there are more rural zones than urban ones. If you want to enjoy, just go to Indianapolis.
5. Freaky. We left Chicago on a Sunday. Two days after, snow fell. I MISSED IT.
4. A lot of people
still mistook me as Chinese. But some thought I was really staying in the States.

3. The people who have helped my uncle actually suggested for me to stay and not leave the States! They would actually find me an American girl to "marry" (heck, no!).
2. No matter how much you force it, Asians are still a minority in the States. But come to think of it, it's now minimal.
-and... (drum roll please)-
1. Tito wants me to go back to the States yearly! Cool!

I haven't met my friends yet; I haven't gone to all the views and places I want to go to. But the whole experience is yet again a blast.
Marvin the Martian™, jaz thinking aloud

P.S. I'll be back in two weeks!
Currently enjoying the aircon's humming.
Currently deciphering a bus map, so I can figure out where to go next.
Currently checking other people type... and yawn... and type.
Currently feeling delighted.
