I'm A Free Man!

Yes, you heard me right.

It's not as if I created all my past entries in prison. Neither have I dumped or been dumped by my girlfriend. Haha. So, you wanna know why I am a free man? Read on.
"This is to certify that ME, a DOST-SEI scholar, is already cleared of his service obligation with the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (formerly NSTA/NSDB). Thus his name can now be lifted from the lists of the Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Immigration that need clearance."
I got these documents Friday afternoon, while settling my obligation to the particular office a few days before.

After I stepped out of the building, possibly my last, I realized it's a win-win situation. No more returns. No more four-year stay, even if contracts from companies make you stay for at least six months. No more hold departure orders. No more payment of 1,200php everytime you travel abroad. No more posting of travel bond. No more hassle in these offices because "I am on hold". No more running to and from immigration offices.

Though it's cool to have a hold departure order in your name without ever committing a crime, it's more of a hassle than a right to brag. It opens a big door for me. But I'd never forsake my own country.
